Jane Addams Trail
Freeport to Wisconsin Stateline
This multi-use 13 mile recreational trail offers beautiful scenery and is highlighted by 21 decked bridges passing over and through wetlands, creeks, woods, prairies, geologic formations and farmland. The trail, named after Jane Addams, is part of the Grand Illinois Trail that traverses Northern Illinois from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River. Its crushed limestone path may be used by hikers, bicycles, snowmobiles, and cross-country skiers. Access to the trail is available at the Wes Block Trail Access on Fairview Road, off of Highway 20 two miles west of the Highway 26 intersection, or at the Richland Creek Trailhead in Orangeville, on High Street, east of Highway 26. Dawn to dusk (11 p.m. for snowmobiling)
