Kishwaukee River and Mill Race. It’s a great place for fishing, biking

swinging bridge

Boone County Conservation District/Pioneer Cabins

Property adjacent to the Administration /Nature Center showcases two authentic
pioneer cabins, and ethnic gardens from Swedish, Norwegian and other groups
who settled in Northern Illinois. Various programs and different exhibits
offered throughout the year relating to nature and the environment. Pioneer
Days Festival held each September: Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Weekends for special programs.
