Fabyan Windmill

The 68 foot, 5 story Fabyan Windmill is located on the west side of Route 25 in the Fabyan Forest Preserve. It was originally built on a farm near Elmhurst by Louis Blackhaus, a German craftsman, around 1860. It was purchased by Colonel George Fabyan in 1914, and rebuilt in 1915 in its current location. The Fabyan Windmill is now open for tours and by group appointment from May 15 to October 15, Saturday & Sunday from 1-4pm. Also by appointment.
