For over a decade, we have managed brochure distribution kiosks in separate Tollway Oases located in Northern Illinois. All the Oases have a high volume of daily visitors. These visitors are picking up brochures from the Visitor Information Kiosks as they make travel plans regarding where to go and what to do. Brochures remain one of the most commonly used tourist information services.
The Illinois Tollway provides and promotes a safe and efficient system of highways while ensuring the highest possible level of service to customers. According to the Illinois Tollway Annual Report, the Tollway is committed to promoting the regional economy, foster environmental responsibility and sustainability, enhance customer service, and more. The Illinois Tollway Oases offer a variety of food and retail options. They feature Mobil fuel at a competitive gas price. These features entice many travelers to stop by as they travel to their destination.
The Visitor Information Kiosks located along the toll roads in Chicagoland and Northern Illinois, are colorful, engaging, and placed in highly visible locations in the Oases. They provide a way for distributing a large quantity of visitor guides to the traveling public. Racks are stocked twice each week to make sure they are always fresh and filled. There are regional guides as well as individual partner brochures.
There are five kiosks in three Tollway Oases located in Northern Illinois. They include:
- Belvidere Oasis (2), East of Belvidere Toll Plaza on I-90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway)
- DeKalb Oasis (1), West of Peace Road exit on I-88 (Reagan Memorial Tollway)
- Hinsdale Oasis (2), North of I-55 on I-294 (Tri-State Tollway)
